Welcome
Hello. As I'm sure you've guessed from the title, my name is Tom Crawford and this is my professional portfolio. I've been pursuing a master's degree in instructional technology from Philadelphia University for the last three years and this portfolio is the final piece of the program.
I am currently employed by the Elizabethtown Area School District as a technology specialist. I also filled the role of Elizabethtown's staff trainer for two years.
I am an avid technology user. Actually, I believe the word is dork. I am a dork. I am plugged in 24 hours a day. I own an iPhone. I have a Facebook page. I actively use Twitter. I recently installed a home media network using an Xbox 360, a PowerMac running Mac OS X and a laptop running Ubuntu Linux just to see if I could do it. I also write web code for fun. If there's a technological problem that needs to be solved, I can probably figure out a way to do it.
Getting back to the portfolio - The Pennsylvania Department of Education has a list of core guidelines that must be met by all students pursuing a master's degree and an instructional technology specialist certification. I have broken these guidelines down in a manner similar to the department of education. This breakdown starts to the left under the Graduate Portfolio heading.
Each of the headings are broken down into subheadings, which are again broken down. These sub-sub-headings are the guidelines laid forth by PDE. In order to prove that I have met each guideline, I will be supplying an artifact either from my graduate work or from my employment.
